Curriculum of Our Tajweed Classes for Kids
A. Mastering the Arabic Letters
The curriculum begins by teaching kids the articulation points of each letter, ensuring that each letter is pronounced accurately, forming a solid foundation for correct recitation.
B. Introduction to Tajweed
Kids will begin to learn nasalization and its extent, qalqalah and its letters, and how to correctly pronounce qalqalah letters(qaaf, ta, baa, jeem, and daal).
C. Understanding mufakham and muraqaq letters
Kids practice pronouncing the heavy letters(khaa, saad, daad,ghain, taa, qaaf, and dhaa) and light letters (the rest of the Arabic letters), and know their letters. This skill is essential to avoid common mistakes in Tajweed rules.
D. Applying Meem and Noon Saakinah rules
The curriculum gradually moves to teach more advanced rules, such as the rules of the noon saakinah and tanween (ikhfa’,idgham,iqlab, and ith-haar), and meem saakinah (ikhfa’ and ith-haar, and idgham).
E. Understanding the prolongation and its types
Kids learn the rules of madd (prolongation) and its different types, helping them correctly prolong the sound of long letters during recitation.
F. Learning Waqf & Ibtida
Kids learn the above, in addition to pronouncing sukoon, stopping, and starting, which enhances recitation and qualifies them for Ijazah.
G. Practical Recitation
All the rules of Tajweed will be applied through practical Quranic recitation. They recite short and long surahs. This ongoing training builds their confidence and enhances their fluency in recitation.
H. Developing Auditory Memory

Three Levels of Our Tajweed Classes for Kids
1. Level 1 (Beginners)
Kids will begin learning the Arabic letters and their correct pronunciation. They learn the vowel signs in the Quran, including fatha, damma, kasra, and sukoon. Kids can also learn the Nooraniya level to help them learn the rules of tajweed smoothly.
2. Level 2 (Intermediate)
Kids can complete the basic rules of tajweed, learning the qalqah and ghunna letters, and mufakham and muraqaq letters, so they have the basic rules of tajweed during recitation.
3. Level 3 (Advanced)
Students complete the remaining advanced rules of tajweed, such as the rules of noon saakinah and tanween, the rules of the meem, the rules of madd, waqf, ibtida, the meeting of two sukoon letters, and other rules that later qualify the student to obtain a recitation Ijazah.
